Over the course of 9 months I worked with a group of elderly people diagnosed with dementia on a project inspired by pictures and archives of their home roots. A series of artwork was made as well as a podcast series.

During a school residency at Wellington Primary School in Bow.
Year 3 pupils looked at tropical plants, children learn how to use a viewfinder, to enlarge a picture.
Colour mixing to create tints and tones of a colour were created to show the subtlety of the light on the plants.

Final piece for Stebon Primary school residency with Bow Arts
I helped the children illustrate stories they had written to create some content for the final installation; a portable cabinet that could be used for various exhibition and to share resources.
The illustrations generated during the workshops were then edited and routed on to the cabinet walls. Cabinet by Milly Peck and Finn Thomson.

“ The Lion and the cat” - year 3

As part of an archival project on the East End of London, care home residents with dementia looked at archive photographs of East London and visited the museum of London docklands.
After which they created a series of vessels inspired by some of the objects found in the museum. The vessel being a recipient, to hold and a symbol of the time we gathered with a cup of tea. They were decorated with poem they wrote and their own silhouette.

A family workshop where the children made concertina books on the theme of their dream holiday, using imagery from the 1940's and 1950's, working with the Ladybird book size.
